BUILD: Augustus doesn't have the same overly muscular build of his father but due to the year he spent training with his uncle in the wilderness he's filled out quite nicely. He's tall and has a slim build with powerful lean muscles under his fur.

PERSONALITY:

Gus was a shy and self-conscious tom before he left to train with his uncle. He would stutter and blush around she-cats and well, other cats all the time. When he came back from the year and a half he'd spent with his uncle he was more self-confident. The stutter was gone and in its place was charm. Gus hasn't gotten cocky, no, but he's finally blossomed from the shy tom he once was into a tom who knows who exactly he is. He's easy-going with a love of life and laughter.

Almost the complete opposite of his father who was dismayed to learn that his eldest son held no interest in following in his paw-steps. Augustus has vowed never to raise a claw against another cat unless his life, or the life of another was in danger. He wants no part of the bloody empire his father and passed grandfather created.

HISTORY:

Augustus' family has a long and bloody history. His father, Dimitri, has become one of the most terrifying cats in the city. Of course, Dimitri didn't rise to power all on his own. He and his elder brother by half a year were trained by their father on the ways of ruling their section of the city and managing all of the cats who fell under their rule. Augustus' uncle, Fang, caught on immediately and when he was only a year a three months old he was efficiently running the 'business' so to say without a problem. But, as Fang grew older he began to realize that he didn't want to run the business so he told his father that he was leaving to go live in the wilderness, away from the bloodshed and chaos of the city.

Which left Dimitri holding the key to their father's empire in his paws. While he was no where as good as his older brother, Dimitri grew into the role. It wasn't long after Gus' grandfather named his father as his successor and shortly after that, he passed away. A few moons after this Dimitri met a tom who would shortly after their first meeting, become his best friend. The tom came from a family who had been his father's rival when he was alive but has sense faded off of their radar, choosing to remove themselves from the violence and bloodshed.

The two toms were beyond close and it appeared that they would continue to be that way, until the peace was broken by none other than a female. Both toms had fallen in love with a beautiful she-cat they'd run into a few moons back and when Becca the best friend over Gus' father he revoked his friendship and declared all out bloodshed on his former best friend and crush. He choose a she-cat that he'd met when he was but a year old as his mate and for years bloodshed was all the families knew.

After the death of their first two litters at the claws of members of the opposing families the mothers of both families proposed a solution. Take the first born tom of one family and the first born daughter of the other and raise them together until they were 3 years old; when they would be expected to become mates and have their first litter shortly after. The mother's hopped that this paring would prevent anymore bloodshed and more death of their sons and daughters.

About six moons after the truce was called Augustus and his siblings were born (as were the second family's litter); with Augustus being the firstborn of his litter and therefore the chosen tom to mate with the firstborn daughter of the opposing family. Though a truce had been called, Augustus' father didn't trust the other family and when Gus and his brothers were six moons old he sent them to his brother Fang to train until they were a year and a half.

Augustus left his family as nothing more than a scrawny tom with paws too big for his body. He came back as a confident, well-built and much older tom with powerful muscles that spoke of long days spent training. Augustus also came to terms with a fact he'd tried to avoid for majority of his life; he was gay. He knew it deep down in his heart and after being back for half a year he decided to tell his best friend and was surprised to hear that she too was gay.

The pair has kept each other's secret and on the surface it looks as if they really are two love-struck cats. But each is longing for something the other simply can't give and with time running out they have to think of something to do fast before their families resort to bloodshed once more.
