Briella "Gentle little ones. Your kicking is getting quite strong." Briella cooed, stroking her swollen belly with her tail-tip. Her blue eyes glowed with warmth and excitment at the thought of having more kittens. Her little Hope had grown up, reaching maturity. Briella was confident that Hope was going to beat the odds and survive. She was no more frail than she was as a kitten and she had survived this long. But even though Briella was constantly worrying about Hope and taking care of her, she was excited to have more little ones running around. She simply loved taking care of babies. This pregnancy was so much different than her first. Icarus was actually here. Briella never thought that her and Icarus would be mates but here they were, happily in love and impatiently awaiting the arrival of their kittens. It amazed Briella how much things had changed, but she wouldn't have it any other way.
Slowly and carefully, Briella stood up, her belly swaying back and forth. This was going to be a bigger litter, she was sure of it. Hope was the only one in her litter, and this one was going to be at least three. But she was excited for more. More kisses, more giggles, more fun. She really could not wait. She was looking for Icarus when she felt a sharp pain in her stomach. It took her breath away and she gasps, sitting back on her haunches and clenching her teeth. She remembered this feeling... she was having a contraction. "Icarus!" She yowled, bracing her muscles as another one began to ripple down her abdomen.

Icarus couldn't remember being happier. After a few months of him living with Briella and Hope he'd begun (though he suspected that he already had been) falling in love with the mother of his daughter. Little did he know that she had begun to fall in love with him too. It wasn't long after that that they confessed their love and became mates. The tom hadn't stopped smiling since. He felt so blessed to be able to watch his little Hope grow up to become this beautiful young she-cat, and despite the odds he'd even begun to think that she wouldn't pass away from her disease.
The dark grey tom was drawn from his thoughts and sun-bathing when he heard the pained yowl of his mate and he immediately shot to his feet, adrenaline pouring into his bloodstream. He burst into their barn, claws unsheathed ready to fight off whatever had hurt his mate. But as he looked around, his green eyes impossibly light, he realized the true source of Briella's cry and he changed from fierce protecter to caring mate in an instant. He went to Briella side, brushing his cheek against hers. "Shhhh, it'll be ok. Lay on your side for me and take deep breaths, ok love? I'll be right here to help you through this." His green eyes never left her blue as he spoke and the love he felt for the she-cat and the kits that were soon to be born evident in both his gaze and voice.

Briella Briella was relieved to have Icarus by her side in that instant. Suddenly things seems so much easier and she relaxed quite a bit. This was so much different from when she had delivered Hope, alone in the city in the dark. Now she had her mate next to her and she was laying in comfortable hay in a warm barn with the sun shining in the sky. This is how she wanted to welcome kits into the world.
The contractions were brutal as they got more close together, but soon the time came. And after almost thirty minutes, Briella had four little kits suckling from her belly. She looked at them warmly, finally gazing at the little kittens that had been kicking her for the last two months. "Icarus, you should go get Hope. She can help us name them." She purred, resting her tired head on her paws. Their babies were beautiful. There were two toms and two she-cats, a perfect amount. One of the toms was solid white while the other one was black and white. Then there was a gray and white girl, just like Icarus. The last kitten was a dilute calico like Hope. Briella panicked a little, having a flashback of when Hope was born and how, the next day, her little darling had had a seizure, the first sign of her illness. This kitten looked just like her firstborn, and Briella prayed that this little girl wouldn't have the leukemia either.
OOC: I put four because whoever had Brandon left.

Hope was curled outside in a patch of sunlight, where she had been most of the day. She was tired, which seemed to be happening more and more. Her energy drained quicker, and she lazed around the barn a lot more than she would have liked. She still never let her lethargic tendencies ruin her mood though, especially since her mother was pregnant with kittens! A whole litter of brothers and sisters. A purr filled the diluted calico's throat at the thought. They would certainly be a welcome distraction to her illness. She understood her diagnosis now that she was older. A disease, deadly if what she had heard was correct (which hadn't been from her mother or father). She didn't let herself worry, though. She was still doing fine, and could easily be ten times worse. She didn't let herself believe that she would live to be as old as her mother, but she did let herself receive a little joy from the thought that she wasn't in horrible condition. Not yet, anyways.
The young she-cat started awake out of her daze when she heard her mother's cries, a worried look appearing on the young she-cat's face. Was birth supposed to be so painful? Goodness, her mother was so brave for doing this again. Hope shifted to sit up, but didn't step into the barn until Icarus came to retrieve her. The tom had turned out to be a wonderful father, and Hope love him with all her heart. She eagerly followed the gray and white feline into the barn, forcing her tired body to move quickly to her mother's side.
"Ahh!" The little calico's eyes lit up as she crouched beside her mother and the suckling kittens, "They're all so beautiful!" She gently nuzzled each one in turn with a purr and secretly delighting in the fact that one had her same pale coat. "Have you named them yet?" she then inquired, bright eyes shifting up to glance between her mother and father.

Icarus couldn't help the deep purr that rumbled in his throat when he saw Hope nuzzling her new siblings, Briella looking very tired but very pleased at the same time. A gentle smile spread across his lips as he curled up beside his mate and kits, softly licking Briella's cheek.
"They're beautiful, my love. Absolutely beautiful." His green eyes held nothing but love and affection for his mate as he looked down at his new sons and daughters. His smile grew wider when he saw that one of the she-kits look just like Hope, and the other just like him. "How about Athena for her?" He questioned, lightly touching his nose to the top of the newborn's head, looking to his mate for her approval or disapproval. The tom's tail curled around Hope, including her in all of this and he gave her head a quick lick, "How does it feel to be a big sister now Hope?"

Briella Now their little family was all together, or big family now, what with four more kits. Briella purred and stroked Hope's back with her tail and reached up to nuzzle Icarus' cheek. "I think Athena is a beautiful name, dear. What about Evangeline for the other little girl? I'm always thought that was a beautiful name." She reached down to lick the top of one of the boy's heads as he squealed, and she pushed him closer to her belly with one paw. "And what about the little boys? They're our first sons, they should have good, strong names." Briella looked over at Hope with a smile. She was just all smiles right now. Her kittens were beautiful and so far healthy. What shouldn't she smile about? "Yes Hope. You are a big sister now. When you were younger you always begged for more siblings. How does it feel to finally have some?" She asked, bending down to lick Athena's head and then Evangeline's as they both mewed.

Icarus purred deeply as Briella approved the name and when she suggested one for their youngest daughter he smiled. "It's beautiful. Athena and Evangeline. Absolutely perfect." The tom couldn't stop smiling, and when one of the boys squeaked he chuckled.
He never would've thought in a million moons that he would be a father, much less have an amazing mate as Briella. At her question about the boys names Icarus stopped and paused for a long moment, green eyes closed as he shifted through everything he knew about Greek mythology and the Gods he'd heard about. " How about .... Daedalus, for the white one? He was the father of the man my father named me after and was portrayed as being wise and intelligent. For our other son, Dionysus, perhaps? He is another greek god who was a representative of agriculture and fertility. Playful and carefree by nature."
icarus ran the list of names over and over in his head; Hope, Athena, Evangeline, Daedalus and Dionysus. Each name was unique and had a meaning behind it. Good, strong names for kits that would hopefully remain healthy. He, personally, was pleased but knew that it ultimately came down to Briella's say. He'd do anything to make and keep his mate happy.

Hope's eyes were filled with love and joy as she looked over her new siblings, loving them all so much already. And to be a big sister now! It didn't even feel real. She purred happily, leaning against her father as he wrapped his tail around her. "A big sister..." she repeated with wonder, a wide grin on her muzzle, "It's amazing~!" She grinned between her parents before pausing to listen as they picked out names for the new kittens. Athena and Evangeline....Hope made sure to murmur each one and give her nod of approval after each suggestion. They were very pretty names for her lovely sisters!
When Briella asked for suggestions for the little boy's names, Hope glanced up at Icarus, watching as her father paused to think. What was he thinking of? He was so smart, surely he had a million ideas! Her smile grew when Icarus spoke again, though her nose slightly wrinkled at the suggestions. Daedalus and Dionysus? She repeated each, frowning faintly. They were strange sounding, foreign, not like anything she'd ever heard before. But then her father explained the names, showing that they had meaning and weren't just weird noises thrown together, and Hope's smile returned. She repeated her brother's names again, this time with more affection and care before finally nodding her approval. "I like them." she declared, as if the decision was ultimately up to her. But she knew it all came down to Briella in the end, so she turned her pale eyes to her mother, hoping she would like the names as well.

Briella Briella tilted her head, looking at the boys as she repeated the names in her head. Daesalus and Dionysus? They're kinda weird... I guess i could call them Dae and Dion for short. Briella then nodded her head in approval. "I like them. Athena, Evangeline, Daedalus, and Dionysus." She smiled faintly, wrapping her fluffy tail around the four, squirming kittens. "We're gonna be awfully busy these next few weeks. When Hope was younger, she was quite the pawful. And now there are four of them!" She said with a chuckle, giving Hope a loving gaze. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Kittens are such a blessing.
