Aribella was silent as she lay in the small crevice formed by a pair of tree roots, the same spot she had been in for the last three days. She hadn't moved, staying still despite the protests her empty stomach and dry throat made. Her eyes were dull, all desire to care for herself gone as she shuddered as another memory assaulted her mind.
Being approached by a strange tom, her ignoring him while he was persistent, that dangerous smirk on his maw as he continued to approach her. She had turned on him, snapping at him to leave her alone, and he had simply laughed as he attacked her. She cold fight, she thought she had this under control. Give him a swipe across the muzzle and send him running back to whatever hole he had crawled out of.
The black and white she-cat let out a trembling sigh, shifting just a bit as her stomach made an uncomfortable sensation, not one caused by lack of food. No no, it had to be hunger. Or maybe he scratched her, wounding her there and she was just too out of it to notice. But there was no blood on her stomach, no dark liquid matting the fur there to show injury. She didn't want to acknowledge the other option, because she didn't want it to be true, it couldn't be true...
The tom hadn't wanted just a fight. He didn't want to kill her, like she initially thought. While he easily could have (he was a lot stronger than he actually appeared), he simply wrestled her to the ground, giving her a few smacks to the head to gain the advantage. She was confused, not understanding what the hell this tom was trying to do. That is, until he grabbed her scruff roughly in his mouth, not being gentle at all and even breaking the skin to cause blood to trickle down her shoulders. He then pressed up against her, and she realized what was happening, what was going to happen. And she screamed.
Aribella frowned, lifting her head to look at her belly. Was it bigger? It had only been three days...when could she know for certain? Her ears flattened against her head, frustration and anger rolling through her body. She hated that tom, she hated herself for letting this happen, she hated whatever might be growing inside her at this very moment. She didn't want them, she didn't want anything to do with that tom. But what could she do? What was there to do?
She had shrieked and yowled for what seemed like an eternity, writhing beneath the tom as he pinned her and raped her. He then finally stepped away, giving a satisfied purr as he leaned close to the used and exhausted she-cat. "That was fun, darling." he had sneered, and she tried her best to hiss at that ugly pointed face, "I do hope I've given you something to remember me by."
She shuddered again, a weak whimper escaping her throat before suddenly heaving herself to her paws for the first time in three days. She had to get out of here. Leave this place, leave the whole damn wilderness if she had to. To get away from the memories, the possibilities of what would happen next. Maybe she could find help...as much as she didn't want to admit it, she needed some. But from who? She had no friends, her family was scattered. She was alone. Ari shook her head, determined to find someone, so she set off, legs shaking with fatigue and hunger, though she ignored it. Help. That's what she needed to find. Help.

Abigail
Solitude is something Abigail had grown used to. Walking through the woods alone, with only her thoughts, she had learned to push away her longing for company. There were probably several toms that would like to be in her company, giving her beautiful appearance, but Abby had learned that these boys only wanted to use her. So she steered clear of them. The girls never liked her too much, for unknown reasons. Abby just figured her mother's distaste for her had gotten around the forest, letting every other cat know about her failures and none of her successes. Not that she really had any anyway.
Her siblings? Gone. Not dead, but they steered clearer of her than any one else in the forest. Her brother, Ty, he could be dead for all she knew. Aribella, her sister, she was probably alive. Abby heard about her every now and then, from a cat who had a tussle with her or some boy commenting on her beauty. Yes, Ari was beautiful too, with black and white fur and the same eyes as Abby. Their father's eyes. Stunning blue, like the sky. The only things Abigail really liked about herself. Sure, she had a lot to be proud of. She had pretty much raised herself, learned advanced survival skills to keep herself alive when she was too young to be on her own, but she never saw any real value in it. She figured there had to be something wrong with her, or else why would everyone, including her own family, shun her? Her hatred of herself wasn't invisible either. Even as she walked across the leaf carpet of the woods, her tail dragging in the dirt, her claws left a blood trail. Or, where her claws would have been anyway. After agonizing minutes of scraping her claws against stones until there was nothing left but the blood vessel had turned her claws into stubs. This wasn't the first time either. There were several claws on all four of her paws that simply didn't grow anymore, and her legs had a few scars from when she had inflicted her own wounds. Others just assumed they were battle scars, yet they still assumed her to be weak. Only making Abby's hatred for herself grown.
She walked through the forest alone, the bleeding beginning to slow, when she heard a cat up ahead. She turned to flee in the opposite direction, when a familiar scent hit her nose. She hadn't smelled that scent in such a long time, and it brought memories of her kithood. The only good memories she had, when she was at the age that her mother didn't hate her and her siblings didn't shut her out. Aribella... Her sister's scent was all too tempting, and she found it hard to suppress her longing. But something else was mixed with her sister's scent... the smell of fear, the smell of a a male... Does she have a mate... Oh, maybe I shouldn't go over there. But then she saw the black and white form appear in front of her, alone. Gaunt, with hollow eyes and a matted, dirty coat. Her sister's movements made another smell hit Abby's nose, the scent of a sick cat. Ari had the small of a cat that wasn't taking care of herself, someone who desperately needed help. And, as much as her sister had hurt her in the past, she wasn't the kind of cat who simply walked away from a scene like this. "... Ari?" Abigail approached her slowly. She didn't know if her sister would recognize her or not. They had both grown, after all. She didn't want Ari to run from her, possibly to her death. "Ari, it's Abigail. Abby." She said quietly, taking a step forward.

Aribella had been wandering for some time now, her paws dragging across the ground as she simply kept on moving. She had no specific destination, and the focus on finding help was lost in the concentration to just keep putting one paw in front of the other. By this point, she didn't care where she was headed, as long as it was away from where she had met Damon. Maybe she could end up in the country or something? There were supposed to be nice cats there, right? But Ari was so disoriented, she had no idea if she was headed towards the country or just deeper into the wilderness. Oh well. At least she was getting away. Of course, getting away would mean nothing if she ended up dying from lack of help. When was the last time she had eaten anyways?
The black and white she-cat paused when another cat appeared in front of her, and her body stiffened, eyes taking a moment to focus on this new feline. She frowned a bit, ready to turn around and head the other direction in case the other wasn't friendly. But...the cat new her name? Aribella frowned, fear and confusion mingling in her mind as she tried to sort out what was happening. This cat couldn't know Damon...the tom didn't even know her name, she didn't think. And Ari sure as hell didn't have any friends. So how...? It took her a moment before finally taking in the scent of the other cat, her frown deepening at the familiarity. And then the other cat stated her name, and Aribella's tired mind worked to decipher this puzzle. Abby, Abby, Abby. Abigail. And slowly, slowly her brain started to sort things out. Her sister. Her own sister, one she hadn't seen in months, one she hadn't treated kindly when they were still together as kits. "Abby." she then said faintly, the recognition obvious in her tone and expression as she relaxed. She didn't know what her sister was doing here, or if her sister even wanted to help (they hadn't exactly parted on the best terms), but this was the first familiar face she had seen in a long time, and she was just so tired. She didn't want to be bitter, or snap at her sister, or act cautious and skittish. She wanted help, and she could only hope that Abigail was willing to offer it. If not, she may as well start digging her grave. The she-cat let out a shaky sigh, eyes shutting for a moment as her body relaxed and her her hind legs slumped until she was in a shaky sitting position. "Abby..." she then meowed again uncertainly. What did she say? She truthfully didn't want to say anything, she didn't even want to move anymore. But should she tell her sister what had happened? Ask for help? Apologize first for the past? At a loss for words, Ari simply stayed quiet, focusing on keeping her breathing even and trying to control the trembling in her legs. How she hoped her dear sister didn't hold a grudge.

Abigail
What the hell had happened to her? All these months, Abby had wanted to find her family and tell them how much their deeds had hurt her, but something always held her back. And now that her sister was in front of her, it was her perfect chance. But something horrible had happened to Aribella. Abigail wasn't sure what, but her sister looked like she was barely holding on to consciousness. "Ari, what happened?" Abigail asked once she was certain Ari recognized her. She took a step closer, keeping her voice calm. Her concern for the black and white cat in front of her had dulled the pain in her paws until it was nothing but a distant throbbing. Abigail wasn't really sure what she was supposed to do now... probably bring her somewhere safer, somewhere she could rest. Ari was incredibly unstable at this point. "Come on, Ari. You need to rest. You can explain everything once you get some food in you and some water." Abigail brushed her tail against Ari's flank, trying to lead her toward the edge of the wilderness cause it was much safer there.

Aribella stayed silent despite Abigail's question, the she-cat unable to focus enough to answer her sister's inquiry. She doubted she could even talk about what had happened, though. Just thinking of that tom caused her mind to go spiraling through horrible memories, and her body still had the fresh ache of what he had done to her. No, she didn't think she would be able to answer Abigail's question just yet, even if she was a bit healthier than she was at the moment. So she stayed quiet, simply staring at her sister with dull eyes as she waited for what would happen next. Would Abby simply move on, holding a grudge from their childhood and refusing to help her? Or maybe...
The black and white she-cat sighed weakly with relief when Abigail immediately offered help, shifting to stand by her sister's side on trembling legs. She didn't know how much longer she could stay on her paws, but the prospect of food, water, and shelter drove her own to slowly but steadily pad beside her sister. She had no idea where she was heading, simply following the guidance from her sister on where to go.

Abigail
Abigail headed back to where she had rested the night before. It wasn't a great place, and was in no way permanent. But it protected her from the rain and with a bit of dry moss and feathers, a nice nest could be built. She led Ari under a rock overhang; it had some scraggly trees growing around it but none of the roots offered much shelter. The rock overhead didn't offer too much protection either, and Abby had had to sleep rather close to the wall to avoid getting wet. How she and Ari would keep from getting wet if it rained was beyond her, but Abby couldn't think of any place that was close enough, and Ari didn't look like she would be able to walk very far. Abby went over to her left over nest and did her best to fluff it up. She was surprised by how willing she was to help this sister who had done nothing to help her when their own mother had shunned her. Really, if she was in her right mind, she should of just left Ari out there, just like what she had done to her. But Abigail knew she could never be able to do that... it just wasn't in her nature. She hated it too. Not matter how many wrongs a cat had done to her, she would still go out of her way to help them... it was weak. But Ari was family, and as much as she hate to say it, family was family and no matter who it was, her mother, Ty, or Ari, she would not be able to turn them away.
It an exasperated sigh, Abigail turned around and flicked her tail at the nest. "Lay down. I'll go get some water and see if I can catch a mouse or something." With that, she turned and left, trying to see what she would find in the rain soaked forest. She caught the faint scent of mouse and was soon able to track it down. With a swift bite to the neck, it was hanging from her mouth. Not much, but she could always go out hunting again later, or collect some berries or bark if prey became scarce. On her way back to the overhang, she collected moss that was dripping with rain water and carried it, along with the mouse, back to her sister.
"Here." She dropped the mouse and then carefully put the moss next to Ari's mouth so it didn't get covered in dirt. "It's not as easy to drink as from a puddle, but I have no way to carry a puddle into here. You can eat the mouse, too. I'll go hunting for myself later." She sat down and curled her tail over her paws. She didn't want to be pushy, but she was curious to hear what had happened. It must have been pretty traumatic if she was willing to accept help from her pathetic sister.

Aribella followed silently after her sister, eyes tired and paws trembling as she just focused on staying upright. She was getting help. It was from an unexpected source, yes, but it was help nonetheless. She halted when Abigail seemed to arrive at the place they would be staying. A nice space for a nest, though there was hardly enough room for two grown she-cats to settle underneath. Oh well, Ari was definitely in no position to complain, especially when this was ten times better than the tree she had been settled under only days before. The exhausted she-cat flopped down into the nest that Abby had made, letting out a trembling sigh as she let herself relax. She was safe now. Abigail would help her recover. She paused, dull blue eyes shifting to watched as her sister turned to leave, a faint curiosity flickering through her gaze. Why was Abby doing this? The two hadn't exactly been the closest sisters as kits. Hell, Ari and Ty had pretty much treated their sister like shit. So why would Abby be willing to help her? Sure, they were related by blood, but that shouldn't be enough to just forget about their rough past together, right? Or at least Ari thought so. Her nose wrinkled a bit with confusion here before sighing and letting her head rest for a moment while she waited for her sister to return. Oh well. Maybe that just made Abby the better cat.
The black and white she-cat lightly dozed off before her ears flicked up at the sound of Abigail's return, Ari's eyes blearily opening to focus on the mouse and water filled moss that was set before her. She sniffed at the mouse before shifting to lap up a bit of water, pausing before shifting back to the mouse to take a few nibbles. No more, though, as her stomach still didn't exactly feel the strongest at the moment, just the thought of that tom sending it twisting in disgust and rage. Then there was the possibility of what could be growing inside her at that very moment, and that made her feel even sicker. Instead she let her attention focus back on Abby, watching her sister for a long moment. She almost wanted to apologize, for everything that had happened in the past and what she was burdening Abby with now, but pride stopped those words before they could even be formed, and instead she meowed a soft 'thank you'. She hesitated a moment longer, she needed to say something or else this would be awkward. "Ah...what were you doing out in the wilderness?" Her voice was weak, but it was obvious she didn't want to completely rest just yet.

Abigail
Abigail watched her sister eat, which wasn't much, but at least she was getting something in her system. She tilted her head at her sister's question. "I just never left. I, well we, grew up here, and I didn't really have a real reason to leave." Well, except for Mother hating me, and all the other cats giving my nasty looks... and hating me as well. Abigail unsheathed a claw, gently clawing at the fresh cuts on her wrist, not drawing any new blood, but irritating the cut nonetheless. Abigail shrugged, looking down at the ground. "I tend to stick to the edges... I can usually see the buildings in the city from where I sleep. Not too close, but close enough to be safer than usual. I only slept her last night because it was the closest place to escape from the weather..." She trailed off. How pathetic she must seem. A lone she-cat, fleeing from any other cats, afraid of refection and humiliation. All her mother's fault, her mother's words distorted in her mind. Abigail believed everything her mother said about her... how she was worthless, weak, would never amount to anything. Useless. Unwanted. Unloved. Abigail shook her head slightly. Even after all the harsh words, she still wanted, so very much wanted, her mother's approval. Her mother's love. "Have you... you talked to... Mother at all?" Abigail whispered. Aribella had always been Lola's favorite... her beautiful, strong, brave daughter... someone Abigail would never live up to. Abigail sighed, her self-loathing reaching dangerous levels. No, she couldn't feel like this right now. Her perfect sister was in a less-than-perfect state right now. And maybe if she helped her, nursed her back to health and watched after her, one day her mother would... thank her for it. At least give her some kind of a warm look. Was this why Abigail was doing this? For Lola? No, Abigail knew she wasn't doing it for that reason. It was just a thought in the back of her mind. Abigail truly, sincerely loved her family. Lola, Ty, Aribella... even after how they treated her, shunned her, deprived her of milk, she still loved them with every bone in her body. And she would do anything for them.

Aribella blinked with surprise at her sister's words. Abigail had been in the wilderness the whole time? Ari was surprised that they'd never run into each other, though then again, it seemed as if both she-cats tended to avoid contact with others. Abby sure didn't look to have a mate or kits, or anyone she was close to. Aribella felt a brief pang of regret in her chest again at her cruelty to her sister as kits. Maybe if they had been closer....they could have kept each other company. But no, she had blindly followed their mother, shunning the smaller she-cat just like her parent did. "Well you seem to be doing well." she offered faintly, eyes briefly flicking over the cuts on Abby's paws but choosing not to comment. She had no right to demand any sort of explanation. She fell silent again after this, eyes shifting down to the mouse with a faint sigh. How awkward. Out of all the cats in the wilderness, she was found by the sister she hadn't even seen in months.
The black and white she-cat's ears pricked at the mention of their mother, her blue eyes focusing back on Abigail. Ah. So she hadn't seen Mother either. "Ah...no." she meowed, pausing for a moment before continuing softly, "I haven't seen her since she left us. Hell, I haven't seen anyone." She'd only caught a few glimpses of Ty after he'd left her, but since then, she'd seen nothing of her family. She hadn't minded much, of course. She liked her solitary life, though she supposed that was what got her into trouble with that damn tom. Her ears lowered at the thought of him, shifting uncomfortably with a frown before glancing outside. Dammit. She wanted to stay awake, to keep talking with her sister and make an effort to catch up, but exhaustion seemed to slam into her like a train. She would have to continue talking with her sister at a later time. Maybe Abby knew how to tell if a she-cat was pregnant. Yes, that would be good. The thought was a comforting one, and Ari let her eyes close and felt herself fall asleep, feeling safer than she had in days.

Abigail
Abigail nodded, gazing into space. She didn't know what to say... this was so awkward. She hadn't seen her sister in so long, and now she had no idea what to say. She was kind of relieved when Aribella drifted off to sleep and she was technically alone. "Wow Abigail, way to make a fool out of yourself. Prove to your sister you're the same foolish cat you were as a kitten. For God's sake, prove to her you're strong and capable and... not pathetic." Abigail sighed and stood up, padding out from under the overhang. She still needed to catch some food for herself, and while the weather was still nice she might as well head out.
The silence was nice, and for a while, she was able to forget about the trouble with her sister. That morning, nothing had been on her mind except finding some food and finding somewhere else to stay. She felt distraught, growing tired of being alone, but she would had preferred the company of anyone except for her family who brought back all the painful memories of her childhood. Now, she was constantly being reminded of the many cold nights she spend secluded from her siblings, forced to eat the remains of once-fresh prey, having to silently follow her mother because if she strayed too close, she would only she shooed away.
Abigail stopped and shook her head slowly. What had she ever done to deserve that? She accepted the punishment without question or complaint. And now that she was finally free of her family, her sister showed up needing her help. She would never be free of these negative feelings, never. But as long as Ari needed her, Abigail felt as if she had no other choice but to help her.
While she was distracted, a rabbit strayed a bit too close. It's fluffy tail brought her back to reality and in one swift movement, she brought it down with a quick bite. It was large and was hard to carry. Abby had to hold her head high so it didn't completely drag in the dirt, but she finally managed to make it back to the den and lay it under the overhang so it was protected from any possible rain. Her stomach grumbled and she bit through the fur until she hit the meat, still the same temperature it was when the heart was still beating. She watched her sister sleep while she ate her fill then sat there awkwardly. Usually she would just curl up and take a nap, or go for a walk, but she felt weird being gone for too long, just in case her sister woke up and thought she was abandoned. Abigail knew how it felt to be abandoned... and it wasn't a good feeling.

Aribella awoke an hour or so later, eyes blearily opening before she felt her heart suddenly leap with panic. Her blue eyes shot open, mind trying to piece together where she was and what had happened until she noticed Abigail. Her sister. Relief filled her body as she relaxed again, eyes briefly shutting as the memories came back. That's right; Abby had helped her, had saved her. Ari would probably be dying if it hadn't been for the calico she-cat beside her. Still beside her. Truthfully, Ari had expected the other cat to have left, not stay here the whole time. Ari sure would have left. Gone to hunt, get some privacy, get away from the filthy and sick she-cat of a sister that had suddenly dragged herself into her life. A terrible sister. Aribella sighed, guilt tugging at her heart. There was much to mend between her and Abigail.
The black and white she-cat waited a few moments longer before reopening her eyes to focus again on the world around her. She was still tired, yes, but she still felt better than she had in days. But now that the pain of just being tired and starving was gone, her mind was able to focus on other problems. Her stomach....Ari faintly twisted her head around to frown at it. Was it any bigger? How long did it even take for kittens to show, anyways? She contemplated this problem for a moment, ears slightly lowered with distaste. She didn't want kittens, and she was praying that there weren't little lives in her right now, but she just felt different. Not quite right, not normal. Of course, if that was because of just everything that had happened or if it was because of pregnancy, the she-cat had no idea. Maybe Abigail could tell? Ari's eyes shifted back over to her sister, eyeing her thoughtfully. Worth a shot, right?
"H-hey..." she meowed faintly, "Um...I have a question, alright?" She paused a bit here, trying to figure out how to word what she was trying to say, "If someone thought they were pregnant with kits, would, uh...would you be able to tell? Even if they'd gotten pregnant recently?" She frowned as she spoke, irritated with herself. God, this was awkward. How was she supposed to talk to someone when she had practically abused and ignored them their whole life? And yet Abby seemed so kind, was she so ready to forgive? No, that couldn't be right either. But one problem at a time.
