NAME: Finch GENDER: Male AGE: Two Years RESIDENCE: Country
APPEARANCE:
PELT COLOR: pale orange MARKINGS: tabby stripes and white paws/patches PELT LENGTH: short EYE COLOR: dark blue BUILD: tall, similar to his little brother, Kestrel, more than his brother, Eagle; he's kinda small and has small paws, tall points ears, and always looks like he's about to take flight OTHER: Four claw marks on his haunches
PERSONALITY:
Finch is incredibly friendly and loves his entire family dearly. He's sort of like the glue that holds them together, even if it is a very loose hold. He does like his peace and quiet though, which is why he moved to the country. He still sees his family regularly, and they deliver messages through him. He sees Sparrow and Eagle the most, since Dove is now a house cat and Kes is well... Kes. No one has seen Falcon or Wren for a while, since they keep to themselves in the wilderness. He tries to visit Kes, but he makes sure not to bring any belongings with him anymore, cause they always mysterious go missing when it's time for him to leave. Sometimes Finch gets lonely and he wishes for some... female companionship. Mostly just to cuddle when it gets cold. He's not sure if he wants kits or not though. He doesn't think he would make a very good father. RELATIONSHIPS:

HISTORY:
Finch and his two littermates were apart of the first batch of kittens born to Tasha and Hawk, who were a loving couple despite their rough start. The pair's relationship started as a one-night stand which resulted in her pregnancy. She cared for Hawk, but the tom bolted as soon as she announced her pregnancy to him. Tasha, hurt by the tom's abandonment and still harboring some love for the other, named her three newborn kittens after birds, like the hawk their father was named for. The four lived alone in the city for a while, Tasha struggling to raise her three kittens all on her own. Eagle can still remember many night where he had gone hungry because of Tasha's inability to find enough food to go around and fill their bellies. Luckily for the small family, though, Hawk was a gentleman. Despite not wanting the kittens, they were still his, and he wasn't going to leave Tasha to raise them on her own in the dangerous city. So the tom returned, and awkwardly tried to make his way back into his family. Finch was quick to accept their father's return, though Eagle and Sparrow were a bit more hesitant. Hawk was patient and loving with them, though, and soon the other two kittens were willing to love him as well. Finch didn't understand his sibling's hesitance, but he ignored it and was always wanting to cuddle with his big daddy, despite the grown tom's confusion. Finch was, let's say, not as manly as Hawk had hoped, but he grew to love the little orange kitten.
The family lived happily for quite some time, Tasha even becoming pregnant again. Finch and his siblings were excited for the new arrivals that were growing in their mother, but tragedy struck near the end of Tasha's pregnancy. Hawk was attacked and killed by a stray dog while he was defending their alleyway. Tasha was heartbroken once again, and Finch would wail in his sleep, missing his father desperately. But when his new siblings were born, named after bird as well, Finch tried his best to get over his grief and be a good big brother, especially since their father was no longer around. While Eagle and Sparrow would take Falcon and Wren out, Finch stayed behind with Dove and Kestrel, teaching then simple games like hide and go seek and trying to keep them busy so Tasha could rest.
Eventually, Eagle and Sparrow decided to leave. Finch decided to wasn't ready to leave yet, especially since his younger siblings still weren't quite old enough to be left only with their mother, and Tasha definitely couldn't handle four hungry adolescents on her own. So Finch stayed behind, helping his mother hunt and keeping his siblings full. Soon he started to notice Kes'... quirks. His family belongs (a scrap of material, a feather, ect) started to go missing, and Kes was the only suspect. No one acknowledged it though and Finch just started keeping whatever belongings his had close bye.
Finch actually only had one belong... a baby pink collar with a broken bell. He found it on morning, when a human had just thrown a bag into their alley. The collar fell out of the bag, still perfectly clean, just slightly worn, and it still had the sweet scent of whatever cat had worn it. It still made a slight jingling noise when it was moved, and Finch immediately became attached to it. He kept it in his nest, safe from Kes, and took it with his when he went to hunt. He'd hide it somewhere, then come back for it when he was done. He was borderline obsessed with it, but something about the scent gave him a genuine feeling of happiness. He was determined to find the cat who the collar belong to, one day.
Soon, that day came. Falcon and Wren were ready to leave, and Finch decided he should leave as well. Kes and Dove were old enough anyway, and Tasha had always been good at taking care of herself. So Finch set off on his own, not aware that the next day he would meet the cat whose collar was dangling from his mouth.
He met her that morning, a fuzzy gray and white tabby who was pressed against his side, shivering. They were both huddled in a plastic tube on a human playground. Finch had settled here the night before, and the she-cat must've climbed in while he was sleeping. At first he thought the scent was coming from the collar, but it was too strong and fresh. He woke her up excitedly, but when she opened her eyes, they were cloudy and watery. After some persuasion, she explained that her humans had kicked her out of the streets when they moved, and she had tried to take care of herself, but was failing. It had only been about six months, but Finch realized he could see everyone of her ribs. Weren't humans supposed to take care of their housecats? He was appalled and immediately went to hunt. He took care of Mia, that was her name, all day. She said it was the first act of kindness she had seen in the past six months. Finch caught more food then she could eat, and that night, as she snuggled up against him, he explained how he had found her collar, and he returned it to her. The happiness that lit up her dying eyes was something he will never, ever forget. He never got to see that happiness again, as when he woke up the next morning, she had died. But it almost looked like she had a smile on her frozen face.
Finch dragged her body out of the tunnel, not wanting any human children to find her. He buried her under a tree, laying her beloved collar between her paws. He placed a pink flower on her head, licked her nose, and buried her. He stayed at her grave all day, his head bowed. He had fallen in love with this cat before he had even met her, and now she was gone before he had even gotten to know her. He was heartbroken to say the least. Now he understood how his mother had felt when his father had died.
With two deaths tugging at his heart, he continued on, finally settling in the country. He stays in a barn with a couple other toms, mostly keeping to himself. He sees his siblings from time to time, but he has never spoken one word of Mia. She is his little secret, and he's not going to tell anyone until he is ready.
