NAME: Callway GENDER: Male AGE: four years RESIDENCE: City
APPEARANCE:
PELT COLOR: silvery-gray MARKINGS: black spots, white muzzle, chest, belly, and paws PELT LENGTH: short EYE COLOR: light turquoise BUILD: muscular but not extremely brawny; tall and lean OTHER: He has a nicked ear (left), a scar across his nose, and is missing one of his toes (back right foot)
PERSONALITY:
Cal is a bit sexist, believing girls are fragile and need to be taken care of. He thinks they need to stay out of danger and whenever he takes a mate, he needs to always take care of her. While this offends some felines, he actually has a good reason to be the way that he is. He developed these traits through his life experiences: watching his mother be beaten by thugs and learning of his sister being raped. Both times neither females had a tom with him, and he believes if him or any of his brothers or father had been there, they could have prevented both occurrences. He now always makes sure someone is with Sophia (Lexi won't allow him to bodyguard her) in order to prevent anything to happen to her again. Cal is, obviously, over-protective, but this applies to cats he doesn't even know. He has gotten multiple tongue lashings from girls who did not want his assistance, but he gave it to them anyway. Truth is, Cal just wants to help. He isn't trying to be pushy or over-bearing, he just wants to make sure everyone is safe and taken care of. He's a real sweet boy and a genuine family guy, always visiting his father and step-mother and taking strolls with his siblings. All five of them live close to each other, and Cal cannot imagine not seeing Sophia ever day. He often visits Dodge and the two of them act as role-models to Ayden, since their father cannot teach the little guy about the street-life because of his failing hearing. He doesn't visit Lexi as often since she is a bit distant, but they still welcome each other warmly whenever they see each other. Sophia, however, is the one he sees too very often ever since she was attacked. Cal dreams of meeting the right girl and having a family someday, but he's so preoccupied with family and friends at the moment that he hasn't done any real searching. He does have his fair share of flirting and has his occasional fling and one-night stand though. RELATIONSHIPS:

HISTORY:
Callaway, Dodge, and Lexus were conceived in the backseat of an abandoned car. Mercedes and Tyson were older, about three years each, and genuinely in love. When the car shaking resulted in pregnancy, they accepted it with glee and impatiently awaited the arrival of their kits. All three were born healthy and thriving and Mercedes decided it would be clever to name them after cars, since her name was "Mercedes" and she got pregnant in a car. Tyson never really got a say (Mercedes wore the pants in his relationship) and so the kittens were named -- from oldest to youngest -- Dodge, Callaway, and Lexus.
Right from the start the kittens were close, but they identical looks gave their parents much grief when their eyes were all blue. They loved to pull pranks on their frazzled, sleep-derived care-takers, but soon their eyes began to change and their pranks to pulled to a halt. Cal kept his blue eyes, his irises only turning lighter, while Dodge's eyes turned green and Lexi's turned yellow. But even though they could no longer pull tricks, the trio still found other things to do together. Whether it was playing tag and hide-and-seek or throwing bugs at each other, they were always together.
If only I could say they always remained this close. At about six months, their gender roles began to set in and Lexi didn't want to hang out with her brothers as much. She went off and found other girls to hang out with, leaving Cal and Dodge with just each other. And it was one of those nights when they were left alone that they witnessed something they would never forget. It wasn't too late, only about five o' clock on a chilly January evening. Lexi was out with some friends and Tyson was being a protective father and following after her, just making sure his baby girl wasn't going to get into trouble. Mercedes went out for a stroll and the boys decided to follow her, practicing their stalking skills. They were not too far behind and they lurking in the shadows. They had just watched Mercedes turn a corner when they heard their mother scream. Too frightened to venture out of the shadows, they presses themselves against the building and peaked around the corner. Mercedes was on the ground, surrounded by three toms. She was bleeding from a cut someone had inflicted on her. Not knowing what to do, Cal just watched, frozen with fear as his mother was beaten to death. Dodge huddled next to him, his green eyes wide.
Tyson took Mercedes' death hard, they all did. Tyson blamed himself and frankly, so did Cal and Lexi. Lexi was angry her father had been following her (she found out later that night) instead of accompanying their mother, and Cal believed he should have been there to protect her. Him and Dodge were too young and they would have been killed as well, but Tyson could have taken on those toms, Cal knew it. The kits didn't stay angry for long, but this was when Cal began to develop his feelings about she-cats and their defenselessness. The eventually moved on and when he was a year and a half, Tyson met Samone and soon Cal had a step-mother.
He liked Samone, don't get me wrong, he just didn't feel like she would replace his mother. But his father was happy, and that made him happy. However, Lexi did not like Samone and tended to keep her distance. Dodge was neutral, as he usually was during conflicts. Samone got pregnant when Cal was two years and she gave birth to two kits, a boy and a girl. This time, Tyson got to help name the kits and he named his son Ayden, after his father. Sophia was a joint decision, a name both the cats liked.
Cal loved being an older brother and he played with his little siblings every day, teaching them all the games he used to play with Dodge and Lexi. Lexi even came around when Sophia and Ayden were born, becoming a bigger part of that family since she wanted to be in their lives. Dodge was like the carefree older brother, leaving all the responsibility to Cal when they kitten-sat for the tired parents..
As Ayden and Sophia grew, Cal soon began to notice Sophia's naive personality, following Ayden blindly and not really listening to what Cal said when he tried to warn her about the city. Ayden had more street-smarts and was very intelligent and Cal hoped he would rub off on Sophia or maybe she would grow out of it. But as the months passed, Sophia didn't change. She was still the bubbly, gentle sister he loved, and with the same naive nature, which made him worried.
His fears were realized one night when Sophia didn't return home from hanging out with a friend. He went searching for her at midnight and finally found her when the sun started to rise. She was huddled in the corner of an alley, her eyes so wide her whites were showing and her fur caked with grime. She flinched from Cal's touch and he had to drag her home, kicking and screaming. But once he laid her down in her bed, she was asleep. Sophia slept a whole twenty-four hours, and when she woke she broke down to Cal and told him everything that happened. She had been raped.
Cal's first response was shock and horror, but that soon changed to rage. He was going to kill that son of a bitch, that was the first thing that crossed his mind. He consoled Sophia, taking care of her until she got her strength back up. It's been about a month now, and now that Sophia is better and back to her mostly-old self, he has been trying to track down who did this, but he doesn't even have a name. He and Ryann tried to track down the bastard, but nothing. Frustrated, Cal has currently given up, but he has vowed to take up the case again, some day.
