HISTORY:
Baya was a pampered house kitty with a sense for adventure. She left her humans' apartment during the day and returned when the streetlights turned on. She was a little older than a year old and had just finished her first heat and her desire for a mate grew more every day. She needed a mate and she wouldn't be happy until she found one.
Toby came around during Baya's third heat. Her humans had kept her locked up during her last two (they did not want kittens) but she had wriggled through a window and jumped down to the streets below. Toby was walking around through one of the alleys when Baya raced by, and let's just say it was love at first sight. Toby didn't want no fling, he wanted a family. He was a gentleman, raised right by a city mom and a country dad. After he mated with Baya, they immediately made plans to meet again.
When they did meet, Baya had the news that she was pregnant. They were both thrilled and awaited the arrival of their kits. Baya's humans were not as thrilled but they grew to also welcome the new arrivals once they were born: Briella, Luke, and Lilith.
Toby tried to visit, but the humans didn't enjoy his company. But once the kits were old enough, Baya brought them down to visit their father. Once they were old enough, Luke and Briella decided to stay with their father while Lilith went back with Baya. Their mother was okay with leaving them since Toby promised to bring them back to visit.
He kept his promised and brought Briella and Luke to visit their mother weekly. But as they grew older, the siblings craved independence. They left their father when they were about nine moons old and parted ways, Luke headed north and Briella heading east. Briella loved her new lifestyle, going wherever she wanted when she wanted. However, her mother's words kept repeating themselves in her head. Baya always told her she needed a mate, a man, someone to take care of her like Toby had for her. Briella considered taking a mate every once in a while, but the thought of kits tying her down scared her. Whenever she senses her heat coming, she would run and hide, keeping herself in solitude so she wouldn't end up pregnant.
It wasn't until she was almost three years old that the idea of kits became a bit more appealing. She decided not to hide this time and let her instincts take over once she went into heat. The first tom who caught her eye was Icarus. Their fling was completely hormonal and Briella doesn't remember having any feelings toward him except lust and infatuation. It wasn't love. She barely knew this tom.
She still became pregnant and three moons later she gave birth to a single, tiny she-cat. She was so perfect and Briella loved her already. She spent days trying to think of the perfect name for her daughter, but soon Briella's mind went from finding out a name to finding out what was wrong with her precious daughter. The small she-cat developed a fever at about four days old and later suffered a small seizure. Briella freaked out and ran from cat to cat, trying to figure out what was wrong. Finally she found an elderly she-cat who seemed to know the answer. Briella's daughter had leukemia. The old she-cat told Briella the disease was incurable and that her daughter would not live to be older than three, if she was lucky.
Now Briella had the perfect name for her daughter: Hope. She refused to believe Hope would die young and she remained hopeful that somehow Hope would recover and live a full life. Briella's whole life revolves around her daughter now and making sure she is happy and healthy. It is often difficult to obtain the latter since Hope is constantly feeling under the weather, with sniffles or a cough or a fever. She doesn't have seizures too often, maybe one every couple weeks, but Briella has to always make sure Hope is eating and that her weight is healthy and stable.
