NAME: Abigail GENDER: she-cat AGE: two and a half years (February 3) RESIDENCE: Wilderness/City
APPEARANCE:
PELT COLOR: white, orange, and black MARKINGS: dappled calico patches PELT LENGTH: short but thick EYE COLOR: blue BUILD: slender and not very muscular, but not weak.
PERSONALITY:
Abigail is a sweet girl who is very caring, but often gets taken advantage of because of this. She doesn't stand up for herself and she is a bit weak-minded and can be manipulated by others. She has the potential to be a very strong girl who takes charge, but she is too afraid to let this happen. She is scared of not fitting in and not being accepted, since she never fit in with her own siblings and even her own mother didn't like her too much. To toms, she is just a pretty face and someone they can take advantage of and to other females, she is someone they can boss around and get to to their bidding. Abigail never speaks up and just does as they say and does so with a smile on her face. She would never hurt another creature and only hunts if there is no other choice. She prefers to venture into the city and eat from the dumpsters, but if she comes up empty-pawed, she'll kill a rat or a mouse so she won't starve, RELATIONSHIPS:
MOTHER: Lola- female calico with green eyes; alive; wild cat; open FATHER: Bullet - black tom with blue eyes; deceased SIBLINGS: Ty - black tom with green eyes; alive; wild cat; open Aribella - black and white she-cat with blue eyes; alive; wild cat; open CRUSH/MATE: none
HISTORY:
Lola was a strong young female, a force to be reckoned with. She walked around with her head up and tail erect, using her good looks and manipulative nature to get other cats to do her bidding. And when she decided she wanted kits, she had no problems finding a tom who was willing to sire them. Bullet was a very eligible mate, with strong, rippling muscles and dashing good looks. his blue eyes make Lola swoon and she knew he was the one. They mated first thing and bam, Lola was pregnant. But she had no interest of raising the kits with Bullet, so she cast him to the side and left without a trace. A few weeks later, she heard from another wild cat that he had been killed by a coyote, but she felt no remorse. Lola never took care of herself during her pregnancy. She still ran and hunted and did everything she did before. The kits were born smaller than normal, but Lola produced a lot of milk and they grew fast. There were two females and a tom, the tom looking just like Bullet, one female looking like her mom while the last one was a combination of the two. After a few days, Lola was already favoring Aribella and Ty, who had opened their eyes and showed great promise to be big and strong. Abigail still had her eyes closed and was always being pushed around my her siblings and the only hope Lola saw in her was her looks. But she had a feeling the small she-cat would not amount to much, so she gave most of her attention to her other two kits to ensure she would have worthy offspring. She expected young Abigail to perish without her mother's attention, but the calico learned how to survive on little milk and by three months, she was mostly taking care of herself.
The little family moved often, Lola keeping a close eyes on Aribella and Ty while Abigail trailed along, struggling to keep up. Her siblings began to notice the segregation their mother had created between their kits, and they began to shun Abigail, making her a loner among her own family. But she still stuck close to them, finding some security and safety in her mother. Then, when the kits were six moons told, Lola sent them away. All of them, even Ty and Aribella. She said she was done raising them and she had done all she needed to do. She was ready to be free again, with no kits trailing behind her back paws. Ty and Aribella were lost, having no idea what to do without their mother. Abigail didn't know what to do, but her experience from being alone made it easier to make the change. She wandered off later that day, climbing up a tree for safety and pondering what to do next.
She didn't have very many options. Her siblings wouldn't allow her to travel with them and she had never made any friends. She knew it was dangerous to travel on her own in the wilderness, especially because her mother had never taught her the survival skills she taught the other two kits. Abigail decided to test her luck, however, and set out into the wilderness again. It was a bad idea, and she was chased up a tree soon after by a hungry coyote. She sat on the branch trembling, her fur sticking straight up. The mongrel didn't leave for a very long time, pacing under the tree until hunger drew it away. It was night by that time, and Abigail fell asleep on the branch, clinging to it with her claws so she wouldn't fall off.
She got better at being on her own in the coming days, constantly looking and listening for threats while she was walking. Several cats commented that she acted like a deer, moving with extreme caution. Abigail had never seen a deer, so she had no idea what they were talking about, but she took it as a compliment. Cats began to realize how gullible she was, believing almost anything they said. Abigail was fetching food for cats and removing fleas from their pelts without knowing she was being manipulated. She was the exact opposite of her mother and no cat would believe her if she told them Lola was her mom. And Lola made sure to steer clear of her daughters. She heard stories about Abigail and she grew more and more embarrassed every time she did. The only compliments she heard about her daughter was how pretty she was, but that was no enough to make this cold mother proud. ARTWORK OF ABIGAIL:
