PERSONALITY:

Micah is a hyper and loving young tom, friendly to any new cat he meets. He is rarely seen sitting still, always moving in some sort of way, whether it be scurrying around the alley he and Addelind live in or bouncing in place while attempting to settle down. This is a result from his ADHD, which also causes in him being a talkative fellow and quite easily distracted. He has trouble focusing on one task, often losing interest in anything he is set down to do. Focus on finding food? Micah will soon be attacking parked cars. Watch out for humans? He would rather be rolling in the potted plants outside the florist’s. This can cause him to be quite the pawful of trouble and even get annoying, but he is a sweet and friendly cat, and it’s hard to stay mad at him for long.

Micah is also easy to offend and a bit short-tempered. He tends to over-react to admonishment from either his sister or strangers, and won’t hesitate to snap back an angry response. He never really means those angry words though, and he is beginning to calm down a bit as he grows older. He is just a bit emotionally stressed from living with his crazy mother, and he is only now able to start relaxing and enjoy a normal kithood. He loves Addelind more than anything on earth, and the fear of losing her to Rosamund is what started his night terrors, which still plague him even though they have escaped. But they are safe now, and Micah couldn’t imagine a better life than living with his big sister.

HISTORY:

Micah was born into an already quite messed up family. His mother, Rosamund, had developed schizophrenic traits after her own mother was struck and hit by a car. She began to speak to the voices she was now hearing, believing them to be her kittens. But after her first litter was born, the voices turned violent, urging to kill her new babies. This was where everything went downhill for the family.

Rosamund’s voices caused her to mentally upset her youngest son and eventually chase off her oldest daughter, Addalia, after she lost control and attacked the she-kit. The older cat soon fell into depression, and Diego, desperate to help his mate recover, hoped that maybe a new litter of kittens would brighten her spirits. She seemed to be fine for a while, speaking to the voices that she once again believed were her unborn kittens. But once Micah and his brothers were born, she attempted to murder all three of them right away. Diego managed to fight her off and knock her unconscious, and he then scooped up Micah’s brothers and ran away, turning his back on the messed up and torn apart family he had been a part of.

Micah was left in a spotted heap by his mother, ignored by his father in the older tom’s quick grab for kits, since the older tom had thought him to be already dead. Micah was small and weak, and the earlier fight between his parents left him not breathing. He would have truly died beside his mother if Addelind hadn’t returned with her brother, Abel. His older sister had scooped him up and licked him until he finally began to suck in air. Micah’s two older siblings stuck around after that, Addelind helping to raise him even after their mother awoke, the older she-cat seemingly ignorant to what had happened.

Rosamund regained her memory a few days later, and she took out her anger and frustration onto her older kits. Micah was still young at the time, though he has vague memories of his mother screaming and lashing out at his older brother and sister. Soon, Micah noticed Abel’s sudden absence, the older cat finally breaking down to escape to the countryside, and Micah hasn’t seen him since. Addelind then became the only important cat in Micah’s life, any other family missing while his mother was just too scary and mean to care about.

Micah grew quickly, his older sister helping to raise him despite their rough environment. Addelind protected him from Rosamund, bearing their mother’s anger all on her own. Micah soon began to wish they could leave, fearing that Rosamund would hurt Addelind so much that she would run away like Abel and leave him alone. Either that or she would be killed. His fear developed into night terrors, causing the young tom to wake up in a terrified panic. He gets less sleep than he used to, but Addelind is always there for him to calm him down and reassure him that everything would be okay.

They finally left Rosamund when he turned five months old, and he tried not to act too gleeful as they departed. They headed towards the center of the city where they could be safe from their mother’s wrath. Micah can now live as a relaxed kit, though his ADHD has become a bit more prominent and can result in him being quite a pawful. He still suffers from night terrors, but the constant love from his sister has allowed him to get a few better night’s sleep.
